Florence Estate Winery The farm has been in the Marshall family for over 70 years, supporting three generations. As the tobacco industry declined Terry, Margaret and their daughter Pamela sought a new crop to grow; and establish a business that would be sustainable for the next generation.
Confident that proximity to Lake Erie and its prevailing winds would make grapes a viable crop; and, after consultations with other wineries across Southern Ontario, the enterprise seemed to offer potential to meet family goals.
The results have been gratifying with construction of Florence Estate Winery's new home and expansion of the vineyard. 14 acres are now in production and the 2007 harvest was bountiful. |
